Magic Whistle Radio Hour 57

Things I've collected over the years or acquired on mixtapes and comps or gathered from the internet or the library or my parents' attic. The different sources are the reason for the volume disparity. I make no claims to "discovering" or "owning" anything. Probably neither do you. It's whatever I feel like playing that week. Things that may or may not be familiar. Who knows? Past weeks here too. Just type "Audio" in the search engine. Or if you're too lazy to press a button more than once, here are all the shows from last year. You don't get the playlists, though, and you can't get the shows after that yet. You can right-click this for later too if you want. Here's what information I was able to find:

TRAILER- Hell's Belles (1969)
HUTCH DAVIE & HIS HONKY TONKERS- Gwendolyn and the Werewolf (1958)
BOBBY & THE BLUE JAYS- It's Comin' Thru The Doors (1964)
JESSIE MAE- Don't Freeze On Me (1962)
JOE CLAY- Sixteen Chicks (1956)

   from LP Mish Mosh, 1957

MR. GASSER & THE WEIRDOS- Ratfink High (1964)
NATIONAL LAMPOON- Well-Intentioned Blues
The antiquated language was perfectly acceptable back then. If I'm making fun of anyone by playing this Pete Seeger parody, it's myself.
Sung by Christopher Guest, from National Lampoon Radio Hour, 1974

THE THREE FLAMES- Open The Door, Richard (1947)
TRAILER- Platinum Pussycat (1968)
RED FOLEY- Pinball Boogie (1954)
RODDY JACKSON- Hiccups (1958)
one of many parodies of Ringo

ROSS TALBOT- Short Skirts And Polly Pants
from LP Bermuda Is Paradise, 1964

SONS OF THE PIONEERS- The Castration of Strawberry Roan
STEVE GREENBERG- Big Bruce (1969)
TEDDY & THE CONTINENTALS- Tick Tick Tock (1961)
TRAILER-The Return of Count Yorga (1971)
THE BIG LOSER- Save Me A Kiss For Your Wedding (1962)
Before musicians were writing their own songs, a “serious” version of this song came out a year later that was more popular
TOM LEHRER- The Hound Song
   from The Electric Company, c.1971
THE LANCERS- Take Me To Your Leader (1959)
