Spoof, 3 of 4

Here are more cartoons from Spoof, a digest-sized gag magazine. These are from the first issue in May 1960. posted other excerpts the past few weeks here and here. These gags are innocuous by todays standards so only NSFW if your workplace is through a portal that takes you to a job 50 years into the past.

Ray Cruse was an American gag cartoonist based in Kewanee, Illinois who has worked for various gag magazines since the 1960s.

I've been misidentifying this person as Earle Haggelund when in actuality he's Irv Hagglund, a different cartoonist altogether.

Spoof, part 2

Here are more gag cartoons from the first issue May 1960 pocket digest magazine. The first few ones were published last week. We have one from Bill Wenzel, known primarily for his girlie cartoons later.
I'm not sure if this is sequential or one-frame. I guess we never will never know.

Spoof, part 1

These cartoons may not be quite as risqué as the ones from Sex To Sexty though that's mainly because of the standards of the 50s (yes it says 1960 on the cover though I consider the fifties as lasting until 1965). Spoof was a short-lived digest-sized joke magazine.
Sorry that it looks like the magazine moved during the scan. I'm not the one who made the scan. This cartoon was drawn by George Troop, one of the Sex to Sexty regulars.
Sid Harris
I don't know the first names of a lot of these cartoonists, and therefore can't find links to them.
