The Onteora Bull

While I'm showing cartoons in high school, I thought I'd show where a lot of them were printed: the school paper. It was xeroxed sheets stapled together with transfer letters for the headlines. As you can see, we used state of the art technology.

I think my actual words were "We already have school prayer, it's called the pledge of allegiance". Like many things I said, I guess that was deemed unprintable.

sketchbook '87-'88

Hard to believe it's actually 22 years since my first year of college. And I'm using the same sketchbooks too.

I think one of the "paintings" is by Tom Hart, who I knew from the comic store near my home town, and was my best friend first year since we were both equally green.

1983-88, I think

Now here's some more old drawings I found.

I think I was in this too, and if videotape had been available to the masses, I'd put that up.

There was this Peanuts book that showed Schulz's early drawings and one of them was something he did where there were three of everything. I only did one of everything.

Captain Spaz #20

Here's the last issue of CAPTAIN SPAZ. Actually, it's only the last issue I have. We did 26 but I can't find the rest. I'll probably post those when I do.

Captain Spaz #19

Another guest artist, this time Chuck Bunker doing his Quaker Oats character.

I've kept in touch with a lot of people small-press past, but don't know what became of him. I heard he became a born-again Christian and considers his previous work blasphemous. Which is weird considering he was the most UN-blasphemous cartoonist I'd ever met.
