CRAZY 2, 1 of 3

I got another CRAZY. I know I've written about it before, but I said somewhere earlier even an old 50s humor comic is better than most of what's new. This is from January 1954.

And here are some of the ads that were in it.

WILD #5- 1 of 3

Here's WILD #5 also from August 1954 (see RIOT), yet another humor comic from the Marvel/Atlas juggernaut and with yet another pre-Lighter Side Dave Berg strip.

CRAZY the comic #5, 2 of 3

Al Hartley became born again and did all these Christian comics in the 70s. He must have realized it was his portrayal of pulchritude that brought the money in since that was one thing he brought to his religious comics. One in particular I remember from when I was a teenager was a comic about the Rapture that had a girl on the cover lead skyward by her breasts.

Sol Brodsky was the first editor of CRACKED and before returning to Marvel was co-publisher of the Skywald line of magazines that included PSYCHO and NIGHTMARE. His legacy was continued by his son who published such gems as ROCK HEADS during the 80s black and white boom. He now has a series of books and tapes on how to pick up girls.
