When I posted DRAG CARTOONS a couple weeks ago, I wondered what happened to the people in the personals. Now I know. They started families with the Frenzy editors.

Competitors of MAD were upset they weren't allowed to exist. There seems to be bitterness here about them and their recurring features, here written by Gary Belkin who became a regular writer for MAD at one time. It's funny how he criticizes their use of big-name comedians when he was ghost-writing the articles credited to Sid Caesar. He quit MAD because he didn't like their paternalistic attitude. It's probably just as well since he went on to write for TV and win Emmys.
