Drew Friedman once confided that he owns the first 40 issues of Sick. Jay Lynch told me about how he wrote for some of the early issues and visited the offices once, which was basically one person in an office cubicle. That's all I have for name-dropping associated with this magazine.
Dee Caruso was one of the early writers for MAD and wrote many screenplays and TV scripts with others, including The Monkees and Get Smart. I've heard he currently teaches a class in comedy writing at UCLA.
This person was also on a cover of Crazy, Man, Crazy. I think it might have been comedian Marty Allen.

There's a rumor that comics would hire foreign cartoonists (such as Caracu) because they could pay less than they did Americans. I don't know if that's true.
The Profumo affair was far from the first political sex scandal, but it was the first time it was reported profusely by the media. Call-girl Christine Keeler was also one of the first to realize the value of cashing in on involvement in sex scandals, and had a few novelty records attributed to her. Now philandery is expected of any politician. I'm writing this a month in advance and there will probably be at least three political sex scandals by the time this is printed.
Art once again is by the inimitable Jack Davis. This is not as detailed as some the work he was also doing at the time for album covers and the movie posters where everything in the movie is depicted in the poster.

That lady (I think it's a lady!) in the top image is taken from one of Weegee's photographs of Bowery night life in his book "Naked City".
