Beetle Bailey, 1 of 2
Continuing using the title Four-Color Comics as a showcase for comic-book adaptations of comic strips, here's their version of Beetle Bailey, number 521 from 1953. The art is credited to Mort Walker with inks by Fred Rhoads. Usually the artist of the strip did not do the comic book version but since Walker had his own staff that worked under his supervision it's likely he had something to do with it.

Frank Roberge was hired especially to do the comic book, although I am not sure he did the first one. I see some resemblance to Bob Gustavson's Tillie the Toiler.
