Another Powell original from before computers, or even post-its, when notes had to be written directly on the page in non-photo pencil and captions were pasted on with rubber cement.
I think this art by Jack Davis was originally meant to be the cover. You can tell because not only is it in color and the interior art usually didn't have a signature, but it's also similar to the cover they ended up using. I like this one better.
