Mort Drucker fillers

MAD, besides being a big influence on my work, was also the first magazine to give me a boner. Shut up, you got one too. Lots of people told me they did. The main reason was the movie parodies by Mort Drucker. As I was looking through a bunch of DC humor comics from the 1960's, I noticed a lot of one-pagers by him. You can tell from the comics they'd have him do the whole book if they could get him. The artists, such as Bob Oksner, were obviously told to draw like him. DC had all sorts of fillers corresponding to whatever particular genre the comic was. Most of the humor here is of the "my teenage daughter talks on the phone all the time and lies down in weird positions" type, and some make fun of one of my favorite subjects to make fun of: beatniks.

As I had the idea for reprinting some of these fillers, I noticed Sherm at cartoonsnap.com beat me to it. I asked him if I could post some of the ones he might not have, and he said I could do them with his blessing.

Sorry, there aren't any samples of what might give one a boner.
