Long before MAD (I think currently the only of its kind) would get advance copies of movies, they actually had to go to theaters and satirize them from memory. This meant that the movie they parodied was a few months old by the time they printed it, but that's okay because before movies were commercials for the DVD, chances were they were still playing. But ON THE WATERFRONT was three years old by this time, making me think this was meant for a comic earlier.
