COMICS ON PARADE

The bigger newspaper syndicates had their own comic books. It's actually where comics originated from. You all know the story of Famous Funnies...yaddayadda...United Features Syndicate had different titles at different times for its different features such as Tip Top Comics, Sparkler Comics, and here Comics on Parade. They used it to reprint strips like Li'l Abner,Captain and the Kids, and in its final years, mostly Nancy.

This was the 103rd issue was their next to last and came out in January 1955.

The covers were by some house artist that wasn't Ernie Bushmiller.
Often they would lay out Sunday pages to look like comic book pages.
Or they'd stretch out daily strips to look like stories.
The rest of this issue next week.
